Finally, an art post!

Good Morning Journal!

I am sorry I have neglected to write for some time - it has been some of the most eventful months of my life I think, which is funny cause its the first time I have stopped being rather nomadic.  :)  Turns out life gets really busy as soon as you settle down somewhere.  This was a huge change for me, and I've learned so much about God - which in turn has changed my opinion of myself, people, and the world.  Funny how that happens.  In the words of a great apologist....

"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." - C.S. Lewis

There is much to say, but for right now, I just want to put up some sketches and speedpaints.  I also want to start posting a sketch per day (or at least per week) - cause it is a pain to find and sort through all the sketches when I wait.  And by this time, I can't find most of them cause they've ended up in the trash.  Sadface.…

more sketches!

So I've been watching "The Great Doctor" on Netflix, and I am enjoying it probably more than I should be. :)

Therefore - ART!

And now for some more random sketches I scanned in and crammed onto one sheet.  :)  I think I might just start posting pics of the pages right out of the sketchbook.  It takes too long to bash them together.

Now its late and I'm tired - peace out!  See ya tomorrow!

In the Year of the Horse - Jan/Feb 2014

Well, I am back from China. There is so much to tell!
Wait, why were you in China?
I went to help take care of children at an orphanage during Lunar New Years.  This allowed the full time nannies to be able to go home and see their children.  China has the largest human migration on the planet during this time period.  If you haven't seen the documentary "Last Train Home", you should.  It is available on Netflix and it is a very down-to-earth, informative watch.
Why did you want to go? When I first heard about this opportunity, I was super excited!  I mean, I love to travel in general - and to be able to finally go to Asia AND be able to help out with kids sounded positively fantastic!  Didn't take much to sell me on this.

How did you find out about this? My mom's friend from Texas adopted a little girl from this orphanage run by the Morning Star project - which provides a home and medical attention to children that need them in Africa and China…
